Q and A with Brenae

We had a chance to catch up with new rising hip hop/R&B star,.

Q: Where did your stage name come from?

A: Brenae is my middle name, “meaning beautiful gift from god” given to me by my beloved Auntie Eunice. She died of breast cancer, and it always stuck with me. Not only is Brenae my middle name, but Brenae is my alter ego. Brenae is the one that takes over me when I hit the stage. And I don’t mean that to be cliché, shawty a whole different vibe than Chelsey.

Q: How would you describe your music to others?

A: I would describe my music as “Trap Chants”

Q: What artists have influenced your work? Any old records that made an impact on you?

A: Young Thug, Drake, Young Dolph, T.I , Migos, Travis Scott, Missy, Elliot, Key Glock, Trina, Tony Braxton & Do For Love – TuPac

Q: When and how did you become interested in music?

A:  I’ve always been interested in music as a child, from classics to underground music. I even wrote poetry. Initially I wanted to be an A&R, music critic, or something of that nature. In 2018 a good friend of mine took me to the studio with him, I hopped on a track with him and I feel in love with writing. Shout out to my boy Trellz and Rob Hound for putting me in the game!

Q: What sets you apart from other artists?

A: I understand that I can only be myself and what’s for me will always be. Patience is what sets me apart from other artists.

Q: What does music mean to you? What do you get out of it? Why do you do it?

A: Music means everything to me! It’s my escape, my get away. Listening to muisc alone, normally does it for me. And I speak, you know its real.

Q: Where can fans listen to your music? (Spotify? Soundcloud? YouTube?)

A: Music on Spodify, iTunes, Apple Music, Youtube, and SoundCloud.

Future of the game!
